Terms and Conditions

Booking
Please read through these terms prior to booking. We will check your proof of address details on handover and will ask for your driver license details for me to check online prior to collection. When you arrive to collect please allow one hour in your holiday planning for us to show and talk you through all the facilities inside and outside of the motorhome. We can offer parking for one vehicle while you hire the motorhome, at your own risk, if you wish to leave your vehicle whilst away. Keys may have to be left in case it has to be moved. If you have any questions do not hesitate to ask, we try to be as flexible as possible

We need from you on collection
All Drivers’ licence(s) – Checked with DVLA prior to collection
2 x proofs of address for each driver. These can be Utility bill (no mobiles), credit card / bank statement or council tax statements (current year) no more than 3 months old with name and address matching that on the driving licence.
Please note we cannot release the vehicle without these items being present at time of collection

Deposits
The hire deposit is non-refundable. The remaining balance must be paid in full 28 days before collection. If booking within 28 days no refund will be offered in the event of cancellation. We will send a notice detailing the balance and due date upon receipt of the initial deposit. This can be paid by credit/debit card or bank transfer.

A damge insurance deposit of £1000.00 is required on or 24 hours before collection of the motorhome.
This is the limit of your liability in the event of an accident or where damage / breakages occur inside or outside the motor home.
We return this deposit to you when you return the vehicle to us in the same condition it was in at the start of your hire.

Insurance
Within the total hire charge, insurance is included for two named drivers, aged 25 to 75 years for the duration of the hire period. If you fall outside the specifications for drivers we can obtain an additional quote for you eg. under or over the age limits, endorsements, driving abroad etc. For European travelling, Euro cover is added on to the insurance plus the cost of European Breakdown cover. Although the vehicle is comprehensively insured, this does not cover personal items, losses, lost days through breakdown etc. We strongly advise you to take out travel insurance cover prior to your holiday.

General hire conditions
Surrey Motorhome Hire undertakes to ensure that upon collection by the user, the vehicle is in good order and that it complies with current UK road tax, has a current mot and that all systems are functional unless otherwise stated as inoperative or not tested. Surrey Motorhome Hire shall have checked the engine water and oil levels. Please return with the same amount of fuel as on collection. Any shortage will be charged for at the local forecourt price + 20%. Surrey Motorhome Hire undertakes to provide fully comprehensive insurance cover subject to the additional terms mentioned on the main hire document and this shall be included within the hire fee.

The hirer shall undertake to check all engine oils and water at least every 500 miles and top-up if required. The hirer shall be responsible for any punctures/tyre damage that occurs whilst the motorhome is out on hire. The hirer shall undertake to drive in a manner within the law and as such Surrey Motorhome Hire shall not be held responsible for any speeding or parking fines or any other legal infringement whatsoever and its consequences incurred whilst the vehicle is in the users care.

Festivals
We are happy for customers to take the motorhomes to festivals, grand prix etc. If this results in being towed in or out of fields and the underside or inside of the vehicle getting extremely muddy we reserve the right to impose an additional cleaning charge. The vehicle normally takes around two hours to clean but additional hours cleaning will be charged at £40 per hour. There is a towing eye stored with the tool kit under the passengers seat. Please ensure it is replaced after use.

Cancellations
All cancellations must be in writing.
If you cancel the hire within 28 days of the hire date, there is no refund unless a replacement booking is found. We reserve the right to cancel hire if, at the commencement of hire, the driver’s licenses are invalid or not according to the conditions set out. In these circumstances the total hire charge will be forfeited. You are advised to let me know immediately if any drivers’ licenses change after I have accepted your booking.

Availability
While every effort is made to ensure that the vehicle reserved is available, if, due to circumstances beyond our control, the reserved vehicle is not available, I reserve the right to offer a suitable alternative. If this is not acceptable, my liability will be limited to the return of any monies paid by the hirer.

Smoking
Smoking is strictly forbidden in our motorhome – You will be charged up to £150 if there is evidence or if we suspect that smoking has occurred.

Vehicle Handover
There is plenty to cover during our vehicle familiarisation session, which lasts approximately 1 hour immediately prior to vehicle collection. Please ensure that you allow time for this process. Collection Times
We try to be as flexible as possible and will discuss collection and return times prior to your holiday. We can normally arrange times that suit you and sometimes with collection in the evening to get an early start for ferries etc. This will be dependant on bookings either side of your hire period.

We reserve the right to charge a late return fee of up to a days hire fee. Should the late return of the vehicle make us liable for extra costs (e.g. compensation of the next hirer), we reserve the right to pass on these costs to you.  There is no rebate for early return of the vehicle.

Collection & Return of Motorhomes
Our motorhomes are stored, collected and returned to a secure facility. Your collection and return times are agreed at the time of booking. If you are running late for collection or return please contact us on the phone number provided.

No pets
We do not encourage pets but if you have a particularly well behaved pet please call us to discuss arrangements.

Bedding & towels
Please feel free to bring your own bed linen, blankets, pillows, towels.
Bedding and towel packs are available at an additional cost.
They include duvets, bottom sheets, bath & hand towels.

General housekeeping
The motorhome will come with two bottles of propane gas. At least one of these will be full.
Please return the motorhome clean with the toilet empty and rinsed out.
The waste water tanks also need to be empty.
There will be a charge made of £40 if the oven/hob/grill are not clean.
There will be a charge made of £40 if the toilet is not empty and clean
There will be a charge made of £30 if the waste water tank is not drained.

Sun canopy
Please take extra care when using the sun awning. If it is windy it can easily be lifted up and bent over the roof of the motorhome. This can result in damage to both the canopy and the vehicle roof, which will result in all the deposit being retained. The awning costs over £700, fitted, and the roof damage can be very much more costly to repair. Never leave the awning out at night or if you leave the vehicle and always peg the legs down firmly.

These are  our privately owned motorhomes. We supply them clean, tidy and ready to go. We ask that you look after them as if they were your own and hope you have a great holiday.
